The Cowboys Are Putting Leather & Turquoise On
Mud Lowery is making his mark on the western fashion world. Shannon Lowery…otherwise known as Mud is THE MAN. Mud who I have given the name of the “Turquoise King” is the new go to guy in the jewelry world. He’s collaborating with some of the biggest western influencers making one of a kind pieces like Rachel Joi who with him has created and come out with hair pins! Hair pins that can also double as hat pins! He’s also been spotted in Cowboys and Indians Magazine. A few months ago for our Vegas issue I did an interview with him in the Cowboy Times, where I am the resident fashion writer. It came out and was one of my favorite pieces. I then realized I had never had him on my own blog and Mud is one of the first western fashion friends I ever made! (And also my favorite)
Mud worked at for Lazy J Ranch and was put in charge of me for the Bleacher Babe Fashion Show in The American Fan Zone in the Stockyards in Forth Worth during RFD-TV’s The American. I was a Lazy J Ranch model and come to find out Mud was not only the store manager but he had designed the iconic hereford we see on Lazy J products! I could instantly tell Mud was as cool as I was 😉 (fun fact my blogger bestie Sterling Coomer was in the store at the exact same time and we never even spoke….Sterling ended up to also be good friends with Mud and well we may or may not have a group message these days about all things western fashion)
After we started following each other on Instagram I discovered he was one of the most talented jewelry makers I had ever seen, and that he also was engaged to the cutest blogger I had ever seen. I decided then he was perfect…like me 😉 Kidding! (kinda) That summer I was writing for the site and did a three part piece on Turquoise that included interviews with the head designer and creative director at Double D, many dealers and Mud himself! Unfortunately it never came to be fully published but I would like to recreate it here on the blog one day. I then found out Mud would be going to work for Tony Lama where we again worked together as I wore the boots as an influencer!
Mud was one of my first fashion friends I made in Texas as this whole so called “blogging & influencing” career took off. It makes me so happy to see his jewelry taking off as it is! DID I MENTION HE’S BEEN IN….. Cowboys and Indians Magazine?!?!??!?!??!??!
