This past fall I finally did a little redecorating since my move to Texas which just came up on two years this January! My style has changed the older I get as it does for everyone…but as some things change some ALWAYS stay the same. Like for instance my love of pink, and fur. My space was redecorated for under $500 based solely on decor…excluding paint and the hardwood floors that were installed not only in my room but the whole house.

Before we go on…to answer your question…Sierra what inspired your room decor? All The Pretty Horses, meets western, meets vintage country music, meets GLAM. Hey….I never said I was a simple girl.

It had been a while since I had my own space decorated to my liking with a good flow. I threw out the Vera Bradley set I moved in with which was very colorful  with lots of prints and moved to textures. My bed, pillows and blankets are all different textures and colors, I also based a lot of my choices off of two or three things I knew I wanted. I also have not fished decorating and have added every few months since the re-do. I think that adding little things every so often is the KEY. When you finish a room completely you are stuck…you never know what you may run into a few months from then. Keep your options open!

The three or four basic things I knew I wanted. A hat wall as a headboard (also because I literally had no room to store some of them so I was killing two birds with one stone as they say) with a really cool poster or picture, a really cool lamp shade, some type of cowhide, and old albums or posters on the wall. I also have an outside door in my room that has windows, I wanted to cover the door but no the windows.

My biggest proudest piece is what makes my headboard. In place of a headboard hung above my bed is one of my favorite pictures from the movie “All The Pretty Horses.” The poster was ordered on posterburner.com and the frame was found on Amazon. The frame now has a long strand of doubled turquoise garland that was from my moms (very expensive) western Christmas decor set that I might have stole. SHHHHH! I did not add that until a few months later. The picture also sits in the middle of my hat wall, the hat wall is just a border around the picture of nailed in hooks that are in the shape of feathers found at Target hung by my cousin who was helping with my whole re-do!

I  have a picture wall on the left side of my bed with various sized frames all different colors and textures. My cowhide pillows were bought on Etsy, my ruffle buffalo pillow was found at Junk Gypsy (LOVE THEM) I  also knew I wanted some of their decor pieces in my room. Next to my nightstand I have a full length mirror and a small fur blush  colored rug. The mirror opens up to full jewelry storage and was found for under $90 on  Amazon…it also includes a lock, key and lights.

Next I covered the door with a photo backdrop that I had for blog pictures and never used!

Above my dresser that also serves as a vanity at the moment because I have not added one of those yet! Are vintage style posters from Junk Gypsy and an old Dolly Parton album. On the left of that wall I have actual albums hung in a line.

My last item and my other proud purchase is my lampshade from Found Images. It has two sides and each is different. I found this at their booth in Vegas this year! Now if you want more details find me on Instagram just search “Sierra Rae  Lewis” and I have a whole highlight dedicated to my room redo!
